In line with ATPCO's guidelines, Amadeus has improved the default validating carrier selection logic in the frame of YQ/YR surcharges processing. Specificities have been assessed according to all types of users impacted by the process of validating carrier.

The processing flow described below explains how Amadeus determines a validating carrier by default, only in the case where no validating carrier has been previously chosen by the agent.

The processing logic will apply to all carriers, whether they have filed their YQ/YR through ATPCO or through Amadeus.

For Travel Agencies

Amadeus recommend using the R,VC-XX when pricing (eg FXP/R,VC-XX) option (where xx stands for the carrier code) at pricing time to override the validating carrier to ensure alignment between the validating carrier and the carrier on whom the tickets will be plated.
